The Best of 2015 – A Year of Food

Okay, okay, we know that it’s May…

Well actually it’s getting very close to June…

And it’s 2016…

And we’ve been very very bad by taking a few months off writing but we can assure you we haven’t been taking months off from eating! (Or drinking for that matter!) We’ve been trying, tasting and exploring just as much as ever but our Christmas hiatus just carried on a bit longer than we meant it to. You have our deepest apologies! But can you blame us? Manchester has so much to offer!

So, we thought we’d kick the year (Okay, the summer! Let’s just pretend it’s January okay?!) off with taking a look back at the best food, drink, bars and restaurants that we tried in 2015; and what a year it was!

Being Mancunian (and proud) our winners will be coming from this great city that we call home!

Starter: The Samosa Chaat & Chicken & Red Pepper Samosa combination we got at Scene MCR

Main: Goosnargh Chicken Supreme from TNQ

Dessert: Treacle Tart from The Clarence

Cocktail: Kid in a Sweetshop or Rye Hard from PLY (Probably that hardest one for us to pick!)

Quick/Street food: Pork Belly Ruben with Swine Fries from Bangers & Bacon

Deal/Offer: TNQ, Happy Monday’s/Thirsty Thursdays. 3 Courses & Unlimited House wine for £29.95pp

Bar: The 1st Floor bar, Cane & Grain

Restaurant: TNQ

So there you have it! We tried a hell of a lot of great food throughout 2015; from posh nosh to quick and easy street food, we even managed to try a cocktail or two; coming up with winners was a difficult (mouth watering) task because we tried so many amazing dishes and drinks.

Now we’re back on a roll we’ve got some very exciting reviews coming your way including TNQ, Rosso, Cane & Grain, Home Sweet Home GN, Northern Soul and Banyan. So stay tuned and we promise we’ll get back to writing, just for you! (Don’t we spoil you!)

From Manchester, with love!
